Widex hearing aids, fitted at home across the North East

Widex has a particular following among people who care most about how their hearing aids actually sound. Musicians, music lovers, and anyone who has tried other aids and felt the sound was thin or artificial often end up here. We fit Widex across its current ranges, and because we are independent we will only recommend it if it suits your hearing and your priorities. If it does not, we will point you somewhere better. Every fitting starts with a free hearing test at home, with all the aftercare that follows included.

  • Independent guidance, never a one-brand sales pitch
  • Everything done in the comfort of your own home
  • A free hearing test up front, with no obligation to go ahead

The difference

What Widex does differently

Where most brands compete on noise reduction and clever features, Widex has spent the better part of two decades chasing one goal: making hearing aids sound real. Its PureSound system processes sound in under half a millisecond, fast enough that you avoid the slight delay or hollow, boxed-in quality that some wearers notice with other aids, especially around their own voice and music.

The result is a sound a lot of people describe as the closest to natural hearing they have tried. It tends to suit those who value sound quality and music over gadgetry, and it is often the gentlest option for a first-time wearer who wants the change to feel as natural as possible.

The technology

The technology, in plain terms

The newest Widex aids run on the W1 chip, which is roughly four times faster than the one before it, and use a speech system that analyses voices across dozens of fine frequency bands to lift them out without flattening the world around you.

  • Sound that does not feel processed, so conversations and surroundings feel natural
  • Music that still sounds like music, which is why so many musicians choose Widex
  • An app that learns your preferences, and helps fine-tune the sound to your taste
  • Rechargeable batteries and Bluetooth streaming, for calls, TV and music

The range we fit

The Widex range we fit

Widex keeps a tight, focused line-up. These are the ranges we fit, and who each suits, decided only after we have seen your hearing test. One honest point: if tinnitus relief is your main reason for looking at Widex, that lives on the Widex Moment range rather than the newest Allure, and we fit both.

Widex Moment, the proven natural-sound platform

The platform that introduced Widex's ultra-low-delay PureSound, still widely fitted and a more affordable choice. It is also the range to pick if you want Widex's Zen tinnitus relief, which the newest Allure does not have.

Best for: People who want Widex's natural sound with built-in tinnitus relief, at a more accessible price.

  • A wide choice of styles: receiver-in-canal, behind-the-ear and custom in-the-ear
  • Rechargeable or disposable-battery options depending on the style
  • PureSound with ultra-low-delay processing for natural sound and music
  • Includes Widex Zen tinnitus therapy, with remote fine-tuning support

  • A slim rechargeable receiver-in-canal design, with other styles in the range

Honest advice

When Widex might not be the right brand

We will always be straight with you. If your single biggest problem is following speech in very loud, crowded rooms and you want the highest independently tested noise performance, Phonak's Sphere is likely the stronger choice. And if you specifically need tinnitus therapy or remote adjustments, we would guide you to the Widex Moment range rather than the newest Allure, or to another brand entirely. The point of seeing an independent fitter is getting that honesty.

How it works

How we fit Widex hearing aids

Widex is all about how sound feels, so the fine-tuning is where a lot of the value sits.

  1. 1

A free hearing test at home

A thorough assessment in your own home, at no cost, with your results explained in plain language.

  2. 2

    An honest recommendation

If Widex's natural sound suits your hearing and what you care about, we will say so, and which range. If not, we will tell you that too.

  3. 3

    Fitting and fine-tuning

We program your Widex aids to your hearing and set up the app so the sound can be tailored to your own preferences over time, not just on day one.

  4. 4

    Aftercare for the long term

Adjustments, cleaning, servicing and help with warranty and repairs, for as long as you wear them.

Widex questions

Common questions about Widex hearing aids

Are Widex hearing aids good for music?

This is where Widex stands out. Its ultra-low-delay, natural sound processing is the reason musicians and serious music listeners so often choose the brand. If music matters to you, Widex is well worth considering.

Are Widex hearing aids good for tinnitus?

Yes, but it depends on the range. Widex's tinnitus relief programmes sit on the Moment range rather than the newest Allure platform. We fit both, so we can match you to the right one for your needs.

What is the newest Widex hearing aid?

The Widex Allure, built on the new W1 chip, is the current flagship and the brand's most refined take on natural sound.

How much do Widex hearing aids cost?

Private aids are priced by the technology level you pick, so there is no one figure. We start with a free test and a no-obligation recommendation, then explain the options and prices clearly so the choice is entirely yours.

Can you get Widex hearing aids on the NHS?

The NHS fits from a limited list that does not usually include Widex's latest aids. Going private gives you the full range and a fitting shaped around you, and we will talk you through the difference honestly.

Is it Widex or Widdex?

It is Widex. It is sometimes typed as Widdex or Wydex, so if you have seen it spelled differently, you have found the right place.
