Meet Liam Hobson
Liam Hobson is an HCPC-registered audiologist and the founder of Hear Better. He carries out every appointment personally, from free home hearing tests to microsuction ear wax removal and custom ear mould impressions, across Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Darlington, Middlesbrough and the surrounding North East.
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council means meeting nationally set standards for training, professional skills and conduct, and being accountable to a regulator. It is the same registration held by audiologists working in NHS audiology departments.
Liam started Hear Better because the practical barriers around hearing care, the travel, the parking, the waiting rooms and the sales pressure, were stopping people from getting help. A home visit removes all of them at once.

No clinic, no pressure, clear pricing
Every appointment starts with a conversation and a proper examination. Nothing is removed, tested or recommended before your ears have been checked and the findings explained in plain English.
Hearing tests are free, with no obligation to buy hearing aids or book anything further. Ear wax removal and custom ear mould pricing is fixed and confirmed when you book, with no hidden charges on the day.
Family members are welcome at every appointment. Many bookings are made by sons and daughters arranging care for a parent, and being present for the results conversation means everyone leaves with the same understanding.
