Bernafon makes rechargeable, battery-powered, custom and high-power hearing aids, led by the Encanta family. We supply Bernafon independently, starting with a free hearing test at home and comparing it with the other major manufacturers before recommending a model, style or technology level.
The difference
Bernafon positions Encanta around a natural balance of speech understanding and listening comfort, with four clearly named performance levels rather than a catalogue of overlapping numbers.
Alpha XT remains relevant for established Hybrid Technology fittings, while Leox covers people who need substantially more output than a typical receiver-in-canal aid can provide. These are distinct use cases, which is why we assess the hearing loss and speech understanding before discussing products.
The technology
Encanta's four levels make the range easier to compare, but the correct level still depends on the environments where extra processing is likely to help.

Current Encanta products come first; earlier and specialist families are considered when their shape or output better matches the prescription.

Honest advice
Another manufacturer may provide a more suitable remote microphone, phone implementation, tinnitus feature, power format or preferred sound. Bernafon and Oticon share wider group connections, but their products and fitting software are not identical; we compare the actual models rather than calling one a cheaper version of the other.

Bernafon questions
There is no universal best level. Encanta 400 has the fullest feature set, but the right choice depends on the environments where you need meaningful benefit.
Bernafon offers discreet custom options in appropriate ranges. Ear anatomy, wax, hearing level, dexterity and connectivity needs determine whether an IIC or CIC is sensible.
Yes. Leox includes Super Power and Ultra Power BTE models intended for suitable severe-to-profound hearing losses.
