Cookie policy.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Hear Better Limited uses (or may use) on hearbetternow.co.uk, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. Similar technologies (such as local storage, pixels and tags) can be used for comparable purposes; in this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”.
Categories of cookies we use
We group the cookies used on our website into the following categories. Some of these tools are not active yet — where that is the case, they will only set cookies once we enable them and you have given consent.
- Essential cookies — required for the website to work properly, including remembering your cookie preferences and basic security. These do not require consent.
- Analytics cookies — when enabled, used to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. We plan to use Google Analytics 4 for this purpose.
- Advertising and conversion tracking cookies — when enabled, used to measure the performance of our advertising and to attribute enquiries to specific campaigns. We plan to use Google Ads conversion tracking and the Google Conversion Linker for this purpose.
- Cookie consent / preference storage — used to remember the choices you make in the cookie banner so we do not ask you again on every visit.
Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Conversion Linker
When enabled, Google Analytics 4 may set cookies to measure page views, sessions and aggregated user behaviour. Google Ads conversion tracking may set cookies to measure whether a visit, call or form submission resulted from one of our ads. The Conversion Linker helps preserve click information (such as gclid) so that conversions can be measured accurately across pages.
These tools may also process online identifiers such as cookie IDs, device and browser information, IP address, page activity and campaign parameters (for example utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and gclid).
These analytics and advertising cookies are not set unless you have given consent through our cookie banner.
Cookie consent and preference storage
We use a small cookie or local storage record to remember your cookie choices. This is treated as an essential record and does not require separate consent. It typically lasts up to 12 months, after which we may ask you again.
How you can accept, reject or change your preferences
When you first visit the website you will be asked to accept or reject non-essential cookies through a cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time using the cookie preferences control on the website.
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the website from working correctly.
When cookies are set
Until you give consent, only essential cookies (including the cookie that records your consent choice) are set. Analytics and advertising cookies — including any Google Analytics, Google Ads or Conversion Linker cookies — are only set after you have accepted the relevant category.
If any of these tools are not yet installed on the website at the time you visit, no cookies of that type will be set, regardless of your consent choice.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add, change or remove cookies, or when we enable tools that were previously planned but not active. The “Last updated” date at the bottom of this page will reflect the most recent change.
