From arranging a visit for a parent to checking your postcode, here are the details that help you get started.
Is the home hearing test really free?
Yes. Adult home hearing tests are free, with no obligation to buy hearing aids or book further care. Hearing aids are an optional paid purchase. Ear wax removal and custom ear mould appointments are separate paid services, with pricing confirmed when you book.
Can I enquire for a parent or someone I care for?
Yes. Use your own name and contact details, enter the postcode where the visit would take place and explain who the enquiry is for in the message box. Let us know if a family member or carer would like to be there.
How do I know whether you cover my address?
We visit adults across North East England, including Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Teesside and Northumberland. Send your full postcode so we can confirm coverage for your address. Our Areas We Cover page also links to local service guides.
Does sending the form confirm an appointment?
No. The form sends an enquiry or appointment request. We will call to discuss what you need, check coverage and agree a suitable date and time before confirming your home visit.
Can I contact you about my existing hearing aids?
Yes. Call, email or select ‘Something else’ in the form and tell us what you need help with. If you already use Hear Better, mention that in your message so we can discuss the right support for you.
When can I speak to you, and can I visit a clinic?
Our contact hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can send an enquiry outside these hours and we will respond during working hours. Hear Better provides home visits; our registered address is not a walk-in clinic.
